Hot Spiced Cider
Serves 16
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ tsp whole allspice
- 1 tsp whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 1 large orange, quartered with peel
- 2 quarts local Vermont apple cider
Place all ingredients in a slow cooker or a saucepan over medium heat on the stovetop. When thoroughly, grab your mugs and enjoy.
Hot Spiced Cranberry Cider
Serves 25
- 2 quarts apple cider
- 6 cups cranberry juice
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 ½ tsp whole cloves
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
In a large pot, combine apple cider, cranberry juice, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and lemon slices. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. With a slotted spoon, remove cinnamon, cloves, and lemon slices. Serve hot.
Apple Cider Mimosa
Serves 4
- 1 cup chilled apple cider
- 1 (750 milliliter) bottle chilled Champagne
- 4 cinnamon stick
- 4 dried apples
1. Fill champagne flutes 1/4 full with chilled apple cider and top off with Champagne.
2. Garnish each glass with a cinnamon stick and dried apple slice.
Apple Cinnamon Brandy Cider
Serves 10
- ½ gallon fresh apple cider
- 1 cup apple brandy (optional)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¾ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 pinch salt
- 10 thin strips orange zest
- 10 small cinnamon sticks
1. Combine apple cider, apple brandy (if using), 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, pepper, and salt in a pot over medium-high heat. Simmer until flavors combine, about 10 minutes.
2. Pour apple cider mixture into heat-proof mugs. Twist orange zest strips between your fingers to release the essential oils; drop 1 into each mug. Add a cinnamon stick to each mug.
Caffeine-free Pumpkin Latte
Serves 4
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 quart milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Combine pumpkin, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in a large saucepan over medium heat. Use a whisk to blend well. Heat to a simmer; do not boil. Serve in festive mugs.
