PARKING INFORMATION

The public lot located on the northeast corner of Main Street and S. Winooski Ave. will remain closed until further notice in order to complete ravine sewer bypass work. The lot will remain closed for several months.

The city is diligently working on additional low cost parking options. Information will be released as it becomes available.

DETOUR INFORMATION:

Westbound traffic: turn right onto S. Union Street, left onto College Street, left onto South Winooski Ave. and back to Main Street.

Eastbound traffic: turn right onto South Winooski Avenue, left onto Maple Street to South Willard Street. Take a left onto South Willard Street back to Main Street.

Pedestrians: The sidewalk on the southern side of Main Street will be open entirely, with sections on the north side being closed throughout certain portions of work. Pedestrian detours will be in place for any impacts to the sidewalk.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Green Mt. Transit Route and Bus Stop Information:

Due to construction work for the Great Streets Main Street project, buses will be unable to service multiple stops in the downtown area. Outbound buses will not serve stops on Main Street between S. Winooski Ave. and S. Willard Street.

Inbound buses will not serve stops on Battery Street, Cherry Street, and Main Street between S. Union Street and Battery Street.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Work Hours, Monday - Friday

Winter: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Summer: 7:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

Saturday work may be permitted at times. Night work generally not permitted, except in extenuating circumstances.
