Winter Owl Exploration in Addison County 2020
Owls are among our most beloved yet seldom seen birds. This is a trip to find them!
Owls are among our most beloved yet seldom seen birds. Of the seven owl species that we regularly encounter in Vermont, the migratory Short-eared Owl is one of the most sought after by birders. Early winter is a great time to search for Short-eared Owls when they can be found hunting over large open fields at dusk. We will travel to Addison County to view hunting Short-eared owls. Afterwards we will visit nearby spots in search of Northern Saw-whet, Eastern Screech, Long-eared, Barred, and Great Horned Owls. Pre-registration is required and the event is limited to 12 participants. Detailed trip itinerary and COVID safety procedures will be emailed to registered participants. Please see our homepage for our COVID Program Adaptations and Expectations.
