New Adults Book Group - September Meeting
For our September meeting, the South Burlington Public Library’s New Adults Book Club will be discussing Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro.
Kazuo Ishiguro’s first novel since he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature tells the story of Klara, an Artificial Friend with outstanding observational qualities, who, from her place in the store, watches carefully the behavior of those who come in to browse, and of those who pass on the street outside. She remains hopeful that a customer will soon choose her.
Klara and the Sun is a thrilling book that offers a look at our changing world through the eyes of an unforgettable narrator, and one that explores the fundamental question: what does it mean to love?
Copies are available to borrow from the library a month prior to the discussion. The library will be hosting book discussions in person at the new Market Street location, with the option for online participation via Zoom available by request. The meeting will be held in the Board Room on the second floor. Email [email protected] or call 846-4140 to be added to the email list.
